New article in Global Runescape Herald about educational benefits of the game. While I agree with some of the points there, I still think that educational value of Runescape (similar to other online RPGs) is low. There are multitude of more efficient ways to get educated, let's not lie to ourselves.
First and foremost Runescape is a fun game to play with social element and interactive environment. Educational aspects are a nice bonus, but hardly important or decisive.

Totally agree with you here. While Runescape isn't really a total intellectual wasteland, it doesn't exactly nurture kids.
