What does it take to get into top 100 in Runescape

What does it take to get into top 100 in Runescape highscores nowadays? Check out these astonishing figures. I know that with my tempo, I'd reach those levels in approximately 23 years. Ouch...

There are also numbers for getting into top 1000 (total and in every skill). Those are more manageable, but still so freaking far away :) I actually used to be around 950 in Farming for a while, but it's in the past now and I don't think I'll ever get into top 1000 in any skill again. No matter how efficient you are, it does come down to playing time. 6-8 hours a week won't cut it.

Friends and Levels

G's post got me thinking. How do you compare your stats and levels to other players? Do you compare? Do you follow other player's progress by looking them up in Runescape highscores from time to time?

This is something I don't do, so I am curious whether it is a common practice or not. Maybe I should add some services to accommodate such lookups to Runewise?

Life as a high level player

Life of a high level player may be still difficult. And I am not talking about Zezima and other highscores top players. Just regular (hmm, sounds kind of awkward) 125-126 combat players. Similar to the pains of achievement cape owners Kuemper was talking about, high level players face issued created by stereotypes and pre-justice.

External APIs for Runescape? Please…

My article or rather a wish list for additional programmatic access to some of the Runescape data. I hope one day Jagex will rethink their position regarding fan sites and at least some of the APIs will get implemented and opened. And, yes, I understand, that Jagex does not owe anything to the fan sites, but I do believe that better results for everyone can be achieved using cooperation and openness rather than disdain and closeness.
