Binding in Dungeoneering

Great suggestion from Qeltar on how to solve the problem with limited item binding in Dungeoneering. I too find it frustrating that the only items I can afford myself to bind are sword and plate body. I'd welcome temporary binding with both hands, even if such binding would last just for one or two floors.

RuneScoop is free again

Qeltar switched to another revenue model and opened all RuneScoop content (including an enormous new Dungeoneering guide) to everybody. Yay!

Strykewyrms and Fire Cape Controversy

I've been lucky and got Jungle Strykewyrms assignment from Lapalok. Such nice little bugs, aren't they? Do they turn into butterflies by any chance? I'd love to see one. Meanwhile, with their sneaky underground 30 hp attack it feels like a minefield, especially when players and strykewyrms get huddled together.



Speaking about Strykewyrms and Fire Cape controversy, here are Qeltar's articles (here and here) about it. Hard to disagree. It looks like Ice Strykewyrms are reserved to players who are fast and precise with their mouses. Having tried Jad several times I can confirm that it is definitely a requirement. It won't stop me from trying again though.

It's the size that matters, isn't it?

Yes, I am back from a wonderful 1000 miles journey which included stone mountains, waterfalls, carillon, art museums, theaters, board games, Hindus temple, bronze mice huntings, orienteering, gold panning, laser show, tornado and hail size of a golf ball. I am sure I missed something... It was awesome!

Runescape wise, I missed many great articles and posts while I was away - but I promise, I'll talk about some of them in the next few days. Meanwhile, here is today's link. A sad one. Though, not entirely unexpected seeing what was happening between Qeltar and Jagex in the last month or so.

But I have yet another reason to be sad about this letter from Jagex because of this paragraph:

"We have now chosen a number of websites to continue working with, supporting them and building a greater relationship. These sites were selected for their size, the prevalence of high quality in-game events, the quality of their on-line guides and also because they take an active part interacting in a positive manner with the wider RuneScape community."

Obviously neither Runewise nor Runescape Reader's Digest fit the criteria and now the doors are closed. Mournful goodbye to my earlier hopes. Alas...

Godswords For The Win!

Thanks to Kitt's post, I was pointed again to one of old but nonetheless excellent Qeltar's articles about Runescape godswords. I remember reading Qeltar's "to be or not to be" part of the godswords research and how I got inspired by it into finally buying Saradomin godsword. Now, almost a year later, I am still glad I bought it at that time. Yes, its price dropped some 40M since then, but it definitely made Slayer tasks more enjoyable to do and I was able to advance my combat levels (especially Strength) dramatically. So, if you are in doubt about buying or not buying one, I have only one recommendation and you can guess what it is :-)

Truthscape Beastopedia

I am still traveling, but has already left Siberia with its cold weather and shaky IT infrastructure. So I am finally enjoying internet connectivity and am able to post in this blog.

And the first site I'd like to point it to is TruthScape. Qeltar just released a new section of the site called TruthScape Beastopedia. Quite amazing. Undoubtedly the most detailed and complete set of articled about Runescape monsters. Enjoy!

Yet again I am coming back to Qeltar's epic skills leveling guide/book. This time I'd like to point you to a section about False Economies and Why You Can't Afford to be Cheap. Voice of Runescape wisdom, no less.

I see only one hole in Qeltar's logic there. In my opinion it is perfectly fine to spend your time doing all these low-level activities if you ENJOY doing them.

One more book from Qeltar. This time it is about Herblore. Don't even try to read it in one sweep, just pick the sections you are interested the most based on your Herblore level and needs. Lots, lots of useful tips and strategies are in there.
