Runescape versus Dragonfable

Runescape is usually being compared to WoW and rightly so. Same genre, similar concepts and highly overlapping target audience.

But at the same time Runescape population is younger comparing to WoW and overlaps with other online games like Dragonfable. Yes, I think is it is a fair comparison and there is indeed a competition between these two games. I've seen children choosing one over another and it wasn't always Runescape that was chosen.

Take a look at this comparison article written by a player who plays both games.

I never read all the post, its a bit too big but I can get the idea.

There is no comparison between RS and DF, the graphics of DF are not that good although its OK as a picture the fact that movement is just a series of pictures and not movement as such didn't do much for me.

The aim of the game is to kill monsters, the quests are to kill monsters, you can earn money to get better weapons and armour and magic spells, then you kill monsters, after you kill monsters you can get a pet and kill more monsters, then once that is done you can go to another village and kill monsters.

There is no comparison RS has movement as movement, you can chat to friends, you can walk around and do nothing or train skills and you can kill monsters, when you are killing monsters you can watch other people killing monsters or just chatting.

My son plays DF and the other similar games and that suits him, I played it and got bored of killing monsters, my brain needs more stimulation.
