Legacy of Seergaze or Death by Snails.

Well, I actually read Merch Gwyar's post about her dying on a way to Burgh de Rott before I attempted the quest yesterday. I even took a notice that I better use route 1 there if I want to avoid trouble. But, no, I didn't bother to look into any of the Temple Trekking guides out there.

In general I am trying to avoid using quest guides and this quest wasn't an exception. What can I say, I enjoyed the quest very much. Even the depressing ghetto of Hallowvale wasn't that bad. Partly because my Thieving level allowed me to avoid ALL vyrewatch's attempts for my flesh, partly because I was working toward a noble goal of helping mankind in the war with these bloody oppressors.

Anyway, I was using the Temple Trekking route 1 to go back and forth during the quest and indeed hadn't had any problems there. I actually enjoyed figuring out all those different events and riddles. Finally I was at the point where I needed to take my last trip to Burgh de Rott to complete the quest and get the reward. And I thought: "Hmm, how about taking route 2 this time around". Then I thought: "Sure, why not? I just mastered this minigame, didn't I?"

I took the route 2 and following Merch's steps got killed by Snails. Now, who is the stupid one here? :-)

As I see this method of suicide getting more popular in the future, here is how you do it:
1. Take route 2 or 3
2. When you see snails, run to them shouting something abusive
3. Don't use prayer protection from Ranged (that's very important!)
4. Watch the slaughter for a few seconds before attempting to click on your teletab.
Works like a charm!

I lost about 1M worth of staff there (warrior ring, dragon boots, skill cape, helm of Neitiznot, dragonhide armor and glory). Also lost newly obtained blood talisman, Ivandis Flail and the chain mould, so I had to go back to the ghetto to get a new mould :-(

Then I spent the rest of the day playing Temple Trekking. What a great minigame! How come I didn't try it before?! Sometime you need to die to find out...

Nalyd Renrut, hi! I thought I lost there already :-) I won't push Farming, if I get another level in time - fine, if not so be it.

:(

Does this make me a trendsetter?

Sorry to hear that the snails pwned you too and I hope you can replace your stuff ok. Those snails are bad and evil. :(

Don't worry, Merch. Every death I had in Runescape so far was good and refreshing. And this one wasn't an exception. Otherwise I would have kept ignoring this very good Temple Trekking minigame.

But, yes, I see every indication of you setting a trend there :-)

When I first tried temple trekking I didn't know you could feed the person you were escorting, I took the weakest on the hardest route and only made it all the way about 50% of the time.

I do suggest you wear a snelm and a crystal bow for the snails and snakes.

Are you going for the lumber or just end rewards, when I did it the seed reward was wildblood and not water melons and it took me 2 weeks constant to get the jacket.

Good luck

Thanks, Steve.
Right now I am just enjoying the game and challenges it poses. Not looking for anything specifically, but getting 20 watermelon seeds for one of the tickets was sure very nice :-)

you stayed because evry week i found somebody else to eliminate. However, since it is only u me and my bro left u may go this week. But, you will probably win "closest to 99" category.
WIll you join us next season maybe?

Sure, why not? :-)

I do the same thing, figure the quest out by myself. It's much more fun that way, but sometimes dangerous.
