No articles today. Just an observation.
When searching for Runescape blogs on Google in the highlighted hits you get:
Three (!) RWT/Cheating sites, Cheap Wedding Dresses Shop (huh?) and Runescape Reader's Digest. I am proud to see the Reader's Digest in there, but it is sad how RWT sites are well positioned in search rankings.

You can see that Jagex have their work cut out to keep the RWT sites under control.
I think wedding dress shop is hitting on the disturbing trends for Runescape weddings, I wonder how much a virtual wedding dress costs to hire.
RWT is such a risk nowadays, the post I wrote yesterday really highlights it.
I haven't played it, but I think Second Life has a huge RWT market for clothing. MSNBC actually had a pretty interesting special on online gaming and focused a bit on that aspect of the industry. Apparently people pay good cash for virtual clothing. Unlike RS, SL seems to embrace RWT and caters to the trading of virtual apparel.
Not really my thing. I'd rather DIY.
I liked the article you pointed out not that long ago about RS clothing. It actually made me change the default clothes for my character for the first time ever. The "castaway chic" look from when I joined about 5 years ago (only having skinned knees and tattered clothes) was getting a little old.
Second Life is very different from other online games. It is not really a gaming environment. There is no "skilling" involved. No "fighting" either. It is not an RPG in a true sense. It is positioned as a virtual reality, where people and companies can do business as well as socialize. The virtual things which are bought and sold there are objects designed and implemented by the players. Often these objects require a substantial amount of programming skills to create. I don't think that RWT in Second Life and RWT in Runescape/WoW may be compared. These are two completely different things.
P.S. I am not active in Second Life, but I had to create an account there as part of my professional work duties.
