Runescape in a library? Why not?

Apparently, librarians are getting creative and use Runescape to draw kids to the libraries. I am not kidding, look here. And this is the library web site.

To tell you the truce, my first reaction was one of a shock, but then I thought about it, and then thought a bit more, and why not? If gaming draws kids to a library, why not? I bet kids don't just play games there, but also socialize (in person) and pick up a book or two along the way.

Libraries have been struggling lately. Mine is now used for renting video games and movies than it is books. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess in a sense they are just a different media used to convey a creative idea, and should be archived because, when it comes down to it, they are similar to books. It's just an odd thing when you walk into a library and having it be the same as walking into a Blockbuster.
