Assist System Digested

The Runescape forum was swamped by people assuming the end of the world had started before they even tried it.

Every update is going to ruin the economy, none have yet.

There was even a player who canceled his member account because of the new icons.

The new exchange has the potential to destroy the ecomony, jagex arnt stupid they will put safeguards to ensure it is not abused.

People complain about things for the sake of complaining, perhaps that is a bye product of a game with the majority of players are children.

It is just a nature of people to resist change, regardless whether the change is bad or good. Any change breaks a comfort zone and it takes time to adjust. Time varies for different people. Some people, especially teenagers, have less patience and tolerance and are more emotionally exposed.

There article say there is no good reason to assist with mining. But here is one idea (I have not tried this yet).

Mining Rune in the wild is a dangerous, and colplex methods have beed created to do it. These methods involve a miner, some bodyguards, and several scouts. Now there could also be a "puppet miner". The "puppet" should have as low a combat level as possibe so that PKers can not attack him. The puppet mines using the new assist feature, borrowing the mining level from one of the higher level members of the team. When PKers come across the mining team they can be killed by the bodyguards if they are not too tough. It the PKers are tough then they probably have a combat level which is too high to attack the "puppet".
