Runescape Future? Is there one?

Very disturbing predictions. Take a look. I'd hate to see them come true.

Jagex have translated their entire game some million or so words to German, they have a Job advertised for a French translator to do the same in French, does this sound like a company planning the end.

If they did not plan for the future would they have upset any minority group like they did when they introduced trade cap, staking cap and pking, there were relatively few that left because of that but they were still paying customers, If Jagex were preparing for the end they would have let RWT continue until the game was unplayable.

Jagex have done all this with no advertising, they have far from peaked, when members fall they can start advertising.

They are simply doing what all good companies do and make yet another feed for the game, why have one site attracting customers when they can have two or more.

For my businesses I have main sites and a lot of smaller information sites all offering something different that will eventually send the customers to my main site.

I do think RS will be around for a long time, and it will still be updated and expanded - - it just will no longer be Jagex's main focus.

A lot of the changes Jagex made to the game recently can be viewed as attempts to reduce the operating cost of keeping RS going.

There is limited room for growth in MMRPG (unless you are World or Warcraft) and Jagex's new leaders seem to want broader horizons. The "casual game" market is potentially much larger, so this is where Jagex has started investing more of its resources.
