An article about junk trades at Zybez. The author speaks against junk trades and asks other players to boycott them. I actually agree with it - junk trades are a plaque and better be avoided. However, I don't believe that this plaque can be dealt with by players alone. Jagex has to step in, if this to be fixed. Unfortunately, there are still ways to generate a lot of junk quickly. I mean you can get 1-2 millions of junk per hour. Until this is possible, the problem will remain and junk trading will continue to make sense for many players. The other way, of course, is to make the Grand Exchange more agile and responsive to price movements, but there are problems there too (like price manipulation). Maybe there are other ways, I don't know (do you?). Hopefully, Jagex is or will be looking into this problem, we'll see.
Meanwhile, I can only join the author's suggestion to boycott junk trades in Runescape on personal level. Believe me, it is not that hard to do.

Junk trading seems to be catching on like wildfire across runescape.
If you read the interview with the ceo, he actually approved of junk trading citing something to the extent of "it makes items that dont have value now have value" or something to that extent.
So don't look for this to go away any time soon with that logic. Im not sold on junk trading, but I'll tell you this much, better start getting on board, or you will lose out big time while evcryone else is getting rich......
Yes, I saw Andrew's remark about junk trades. I still think junk trades go against gameplay and will avoid them. As for getting rich in Runescape, it is not a problem. There are many ways to get rich in Runescape without using junk trades (including merchanting).
