An article from the Informer about the recent Herblore update and fate of the Extreme potions. Yes, they were quietly nerfed by Jagex, so they could not be used in any PvP combat situations, including minigames. I still like the potions and will use them on Slayer assignments. They also can and will be used to powertrain Herblore. By was the nerfing really nesessary? PvP worlds, ok, maybe... Though I don't think there are many pkers among players with 88+ herblore, it would only be a matter of time. But why forbid it in minigames?! That I totally don't understand.

I also found it really sad that they took a complete swipe at the update just after releasing it.
Other than slayer and monster hunting it would have been a real good incentive for higher levels to play safe minigames.
To be honest any update that good was begging for Jagex to nerf it... seems to be the pattern anymore...
When I first used the extreme pots I thought that it would be a killing in PVP and that something had to be done, Jagex did something.
I don't think it is right that a skiller who trained as a skiller should be able to go to a PK world and take over just because of an update to a non combat skill.
Had it been a new skill and everyone had the opportunity to train for the new boosts from scratch it would be fine (i.e. Summoning).
I forget the wording but Jagex did say they were removing from PVP "for now" this may mean that they are giving the pker accounts chance to train herby so they are not disadvantaged by being pker accounts.
I have 90 herby and can use the extreme set, I don't pk either but I believe Jagex did the correct thing here.
While I agree with steve to a certain extent, The fact is that Jagex once again released an update with no thought on the ramifications of said update.... (this sound familiar?)
"Lets make an update and release it and see what happens, no need to test it first"
Steve, I am more frustrated about including PvP minigames into the nerf, than by removing extreme potions from PvP worlds. I suspect that it was simply much easier to do from technical stand point and that's why Jagex forbade extreme potions from all PvP activities in one big swap instead of addressing PvP worlds only.
