Well, of course, I knew about the way players sometime tag alone other players, but I never thought there is a money making taxi business built on top of it. This game simply never stops to amaze me.

I remember back before the trade limits there being taxi service on the free Laws world(wasn't it world 66?)
I knew there had to be something like this around, and I was right.
I had seen these on forums a while ago and actually used one once, just out of curiousity. I looked up the clan chat, said I needed to get from A to B (just picked an arbitrary destination, I just wanted to use the service). I just followed someone, paid the fee and had a little bit of conversation along the way. Seemed kind of nice, I never got a 'scammer' vibe off of it at all.
With all the teleports available in P2P and to higher levels, its definitely easy to forget how much game time we spent just running from place to place. Man, I was estatic when I could finally teleport to Falador and Varrock!
The furthest I have walked in the past year is from Castlewars to that clue in the centre of Feldip Hills.
They should set up a taxi service for that :D

There should be a taxi service from one end of Gielinor to another with a stop in each pub along the way.

Oh that is just great player created content on RS. We used to do that on RS Classic since there were so many pures but the fee would only be newb like 30 gp. :)
I think it was mostly just for fun, not a real "business."
